Banned Book Story for Banned Books Week

Hello, everyone! I wanted to do a quick post about banned books in honor of banned books week. I think that it's important that we have the freedom to read what we want. The story I'm going to tell is about the time I was told I couldn't read a book. This story happened when I was a kid and going to a daycare. I've always been a reader and I always carry a book with me. That day I brought Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix with me. I didn't think anything of it. I had been bringing books with me to daycare since I started going that summer. So as I was reading one of the workers came over to me and told me that I couldn't read that. At first, I thought that I had misheard her. Then she reached down and took the books out of my hands. She then told me that this type of book was not allowed and I could have it back at the end of the day. Back then I didn't understand why I couldn't read Harry Potter there. It didn't make any sense. That experien

#BroodyBFF Challenge #9 Love of Reading

This post is all about my love for reading. I've always loved to read from a young age. My mom is an avid reader and I get my love of reading from her.I have a memory of being jealous of my brother because he got to learn how to read first.  We're twins but we were in different classes and his started before mine did.  It's funny to look back on that memory because he doesn't read books, I know the horror! Though I have tried to get him into reading. My attempts have failed. Anyway, I have loved books for as long as I can remember. Though there are a few that stick in my mind as my favorites growing up. One of my favorites was the Nancy Drew books. I loved those as well as the boxcar children mysteries. I also loved the babysitters club books. I also remember reading a lot of R.L. Stines books. Of course, I have to include Harry Potter as well. Reading has been a huge part of my life. No matter what was going on in my life I knew I could open a book and go on an adven
